The USAG Alaska Better Opportunity for Single Soldiers (B.O.S.S.) Program is always searching for members to join its team.

Positions within the USAG Alaska Better Opportunity for Single Soldier Program:

President (Full-time): The face of the B.O.S.S. program, the President is charged with the organization, maintenance, and execution of the entire B.O.S.S. program. Must be comfortable speaking publicly and to high ranking military officials. Must be proficient in the use of technology, Microsoft Office applications, and be willing to speak on camera. Multi-tasking is essential as is the basic understanding of budgeting and finance. The President is always busy creating new programs, events, and activities for the Soldiers of Fort Wainwright. Any applicant must be enthusiastic and willing to work hard. All duties of the B.O.S.S. program are the responsibility of the BOSS President, but tasks can be delegated. Will represent the B.O.S.S. program as various installation meeting, to include the Physical Health Working Group, Volunteer Counsel, other Commander Meetings, on social media, and on the news (it happens).

Vice President (Full-time): B.O.S.S. Volunteer coordinator, assists in all day-to-day activities of the B.O.S.S. office, organize and manage volunteer events, organize and manage all B.O.S.S. events, assist the B.O.S.S. President in the management of the B.O.S.S. program and all it entails. Will represent the B.O.S.S. program as various installation meeting, to include the Physical Health Working Group, Volunteer Counsel, and other Commander Meetings. Must be proficient in the use of technology, Microsoft Office applications, and be willing to speak publicly and on camera. Can sit on chairs of sub-committees, is a member of the Executive B.O.S.S. Counsel, and will fill in for the President in his/her absence. Other duties as assigned by the President.

Administrative Assistant (Part-time/volunteer): Take notes during meetings, create the B.O.S.S. Meeting Agenda, track meeting attendance, create the B.O.S.S. Meeting Minuets, ensure organization, and is a member of the Executive B.O.S.S. Counsel. Will fill in for the President in his/her absence. Other duties as assigned by the President.

Treasurer (Part-Time/volunteer): Maintain the B.O.S.S. budget, track spending, track monthly variances, control the flow of B.O.S.S. funds. Is a member of the Executive BOSS Counsel and will fill in for the President in his/her absence. Other duties as assigned by the President.

 

All persons applying must have at least one year left on station at the time of acceptance for the position and be considered BOSS eligible (Single, Single with Dependents, Geo-Bachelor).

Experience the rugged beauty of Donnelly Dome on a full-day guided ATV adventure with Outdoor Recreation. Ride through scenic terrain, take in stunning views, and enjoy a day of exploration in Alaska's outdoors. Date: Aug. 8 Time: 8 a.m.–6 p.m. Cost: $118 per person Important Information: Registration is required.
