Things are about to get wild at this year's March Madness event! Don't miss out on ski & snowboard contests, pond jumps, and polar plunges for all ages!
Schedule of Events
Saturday, March 16:
Tubing Hill: The Tubing Hill will be open for 2 sessions on Saturday: 11 a.m. - 2 p.m., and 2-5 p.m. Normal daily fees apply.
Rail Jam Contest*:
2 p.m.
Show off your skills at this epic event, starting at 2 p.m. Jam the Rail Garden for a 15 minute session during the Rail Jam Contest. Entry fee is $10. All participants must have a helmet. Prizes will be awarded for top contestants.
Knuckle Huck*:
3:30 p.m.
Get ready for the first ever Knuckle Huck! Instead of hitting the Big Air jump as they traditionally would, riders instead take off the knuckle (roll over) of the jump and huck their most unique trick, finishing in the same landing area. Since riders do not get as much height, the tricks must instead rely on technicality and creativity. All participants must have a helmet. Prizes will be awarded for top contestants.
Sunday, March 17:
Tubing Hill: The Tubing Hill will be open for 2 sessions on Saturday: 11 a.m. - 2 p.m., and 2-5 p.m. Normal daily fees apply.
Big Air Contest*:
2 p.m.
Get big air, nail the trick, land it, and then brag about it later. Contest starts at 2 p.m., and the entry fee is $10. Prizes will be awarded for top contestants.
*All participants must wear a helmet (supplied free of charge from Birch Hill Equipment Rental).
Pond Skip*:
4 p.m.
Can you make it across the intimidatingly chilly pond on skis or snowboard? All ages are welcome to tempt fate and attempt to make it across the 65+ feet of ice cold open water. Afterwards, warm up by the bonfires and roast some marshmallows. Remember to bring towels, spare clothes, and extra snow gear to change into.
*No ski poles are allowed for this event. All participants must wear a helmet (supplied free of charge from Birch Hill Equipment Rental).
Polar Plunge*:
5:30 p.m.
Take the plunge! Jump feet first into the freezing cold water and prove just how "Alaskan" you really can be! All ages are welcome into the chilling pond. Afterwards, warm up by the bonfires and roast some marshmallows. Remember to bring towels, spare clothes, and extra snow gear to change into.
*Must be 8 years of age or older to participate. Participants under 18 years of age must have guardian present. All participants must wear a helmet.
Warm up at the fire pits:
After a day on the slopes, warm up your fingers and toes by the fire pits. We'll be stoking the fires throughout the afternoon and evening so you can gather by the flames with friends and family.
