Child and Youth Services Respite Care

Spouses of Soldiers and Soldiers who have been assigned to a deployment of 90 days or more are eligible to register for the Blue Star Community Program.* Each household will be presented with one Blue Star Community Card after registration per person in the household that is 16 years old and up.
Spouses of Soldiers and Soldiers must be able to present a valid set of Soldier's orders, as well a DoD ID Card at the time of registration.

If registering for Respite Care, it is highly encouraged to head over to Parent and Outreach Services for Blue Star Community Card registration for an easy 2-in-1 registration process. Please refer to the Parent and Outreach Services site for needed forms to register for Respite Care.
During the Subway Discount Card promotion, Family and MWR will be a registration location for easy pick up of both, the Blue Star Community Card and Subway Discount Card. Registration is with MWR Marketing on the top floor of Murphy Hall (Bldg 1045 Gaffney Rd.) Wednesday - Friday 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. or email us to make an appointment.

- Can I share my Blue Star Community Card?
Yes, your Blue Star Community Card can only be shared with immediate members of your household. Community Cards are distributed per household to those who are 16 years old and above. Community Cards are for registered households and it is a violation to share your Blue Star Community Card with members outside of your registered household.
- If my soldier comes back from deployment before November 15, 2020, can we still use this card?
Yes, a registered household may use this Community Card until November 15, 2020.
- What happens if I lose my card?
Replacement cards are $10.
- I'm already registered for CYS Respite Care but don't have a Blue Star Community Card. How do I get a Blue Star Community Card?
Bring in your DoD ID Card and Soldier's orders to pick up a Blue Star Community Card at Parent Central Services.
