Young Lives, BIG Stories contest celebrates the life of Military Youth

U.S. Army Garrison Alaska, April 1, 2022-Installation Management Command (IMCOM) Child and Youth Services celebrates the Month of the Military Child with the Young Lives, Big Stories Contest.

The Young Lives, BIG Stories Contest is open to all Army-connected children preschool through twelfth grade.  Youth participants will have the option of telling their story on ‘What does it mean to you to be a military child or youth?’ for the chance to win great prizes.  The goal of the contest is to tell the military story through the eyes of our children and youth.  Prizes will be given to one overall winner and the top entries in each category.  Contest is open to all children and youth of services members (Active Duty, National Guard, Reserve, and Retirees) enrolled in Army CYS Programs.

Each participant may submit (1) entry into the contest. One winner from each category will receive a prize and the top overall winner, will receive the grand prize. Competition categories are as follows:

Drawing

  • Children ages 3 - 4
  • Ages 5 – Grade 1
  • Grades 2 - 3

Written Submission

  • Grades 4 - 5
  • Grades 6 - 8
  • Grades 9 – 12

Audio/Video Submission

  • Grades 2 - 3
  • Grades 4 - 5
  • Grades 6 - 8
  • Grades 9 – 12

All winners will be selected by a panel of judges from IMCOM Headquarters.

To enter, participants can visit Parent Central Services, CDC1, CDC2, SAC or YOUTH CENTER or www.armymwr.com/momc. The Young Lives, Big Stories. Contest runs April 1-30, 2022. All submissions must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. CST on 30 April 2022.
