Fort Wainwright, get ready for the biggest event of the season! The USAG Alaska Summer Concert is on June 8 at the Chena Bend Clubhouse & Golf Course! Enjoy an evening with friends, featuring country music artist, Chase Bryant, with openers Jared Mahone and Lakin, and Nick Reynoldson as your MC. Food, a beverage tent, and lawn games will be available, plus so much more!

Don't forget to bring a chair or blanket to sit on! This year's concert is festival-style with lawn seating. A limited number of folding chairs will be available for rent for $2/per chair at the venue on the day of the event.

Doors open at 4 p.m. The concert starts at 5 p.m.

Get your tickets in advance in person or online. Online ticket sales start on May 1 at Noon. In person ticket sales start on May 15 at the locations listed below.

In person tickets will be available for purchase starting May 15 through June 8 at the following Fort Wainwright locations: Outdoor Recreation, the Last Frontier Community Activity Center, and the Chena Bend Clubhouse & Golf Course.
In person tickets will be available for purchase at the following Fort Greely locations: Aurora Community Activity Center and the Physical Fitness Center.

Event Tokens

Event Tokens will be used instead of cash and credit cards during the event. No cash or cards will be accepted at the food or beverage tents. 1 Token = $1. See Food and Beverage Menu below for pricing. Save time and purchase your Tokens ahead of time online! Parking & Access Information

Concert Access

Open to DoD Cardholders, Authorized Guests, and the public.

No re-entry will be granted once you enter through the event access gate.

Special event access will only be through Badger Gate located on Badger Road. Installation access via Badger Gate will require positive photo identification and proof of vehicle insurance.

Attendees should be prepared for random vehicle inspections, as well as bag checks being implemented. A reminder that marijuana, though legal in the State of Alaska, is still illegal, in any form, on federal installations.

On-post shuttles are also available. Scroll down for more information about the free shuttle service to and from the venue.

Free Shuttles
A free shuttle service will be available for concert attendees. No need to make reservations-- shuttles begin at 3:30 p.m. and will run until all attendees vacate the concert venue. This is the recommended mode of transportation to access the concert.

  • Education Center (building 4391)

Parking
Parking will be available near the Chena Bend Clubhouse & Golf Course, building 4090 Montgomery Road (at the intersection of Montgomery Road and Ketcham Road). Be prepared to follow traffic signs and controllers as they lead you to available parking spots.

Overnight Parking
We have you covered when it comes to overnight parking. If you decide to leave your vehicle parked overnight, please note that it will be towed to the Lower Chena Bend Parking Lot beginning at 11 p.m. (see map below).

Prohibited Items

The following items are prohibited to bring with you to the concert: Camelback-style hydration packs, outside food & beverages, cans or glass bottles, aerosol cans, alcohol, illegal drugs or substances, fireworks, professional grade cameras or video equipment, firearms, knives, weapons, or objects that could be used as weapons, pets (except service animals), selfie sticks, banners on flags or poles, laser pointers, skateboards or skates, wagons. Management has the right to refuse entry of all items deemed inappropriate.

All bags are subject to search.

After a night of fun, do the responsible thing and don't drive while intoxicated. The B.O.S.S. S.A.D.D. FAQs

Do I need tickets for this event?

The USAG Summer Concert does require tickets. Tickets will be available for purchase the day of the event at the access gate. It is strongly encouraged to purchase tickets in advance prior to the event. Tickets can be purchased in person before June 8 at the following Fort Wainwright locations: Outdoor Recreation, the Last Frontier Community Activity Center, and the Chena Bend Clubhouse & Golf Course.
In person tickets will be available for purchase at the following Fort Greely locations: Aurora Community Activity Center and the Physical Fitness Center.

What time do the shuttles run?

Shuttles will begin running at 3:30 p.m., and will continue running throughout the event. Reservations are not needed—the shuttles will be on a continuous loop.

How do I access the parking area?

Whether you are on or off post, access to parking is only available through Badger Gate. A limited amount of parking will be available in close proximity to the event for the Handicap and Gold Star Spouses. Parking will be available in lots near the Chena Bend Clubhouse & Golf Course (at the intersection of Montgomery Road and Ketcham Road). Be prepared to follow traffic signs and controllers as they lead you to available parking spots. All other routes will be closed off beginning at 10 a.m. Please refer to the map above for road closures. We strongly encourage you to park at one of the four shuttle locations and ride the free shuttle to and from the event.

Is this event open to the public?

The USAG Alaska Summer Concert at Fort Wainwright is open to the public. Special event access will be granted through the Badger Road Gate only. Anyone aged 16 years and above must present a valid state or federally issued picture identification. Please see a full list of Fort Wainwright requirements for gate access entry here.

Is this event family friendly?

We invite all ages to attend the event! Activities will be available for both kids and adults throughout the entire night.

Can I bring my own food and drinks?

All food and drinks must be purchased at the event. Outside food and beverages, Camelback-style hydration packs, cans, glass bottles, and other items deemed inappropriate by management will not be allowed.

I heard that there will be security checks. Is this true?

Yes. Security checks will be in place to ensure that everyone is kept safe. Please be advised that bag checks will be conducted, and certain items are not allowed on the shuttle buses or at the main event. Some of the main items not allowed are illegal drugs or substances, alcohol, outside food or drinks, cans or glass bottles, firearms or weapons professional video and audio equipment, or pets (except service animals).
