Physical Fitness Center (PFC)

Per U.S. Army Alaska guidance, face masks must be worn while inside a DoD facility regardless of vaccination status.


We are committed to ensuring the health and safety of our Soldiers, Family Members, Retirees, Civilians, and the entire community. Help us maintain a healthy community by adhering to the specific COVID-19 precautions listed below.

  • All gyms are now open to DoD ID cardholders during hours of operations 
  • Fully vaccinated patrons who choose to show proof with proper validated vaccination card can take face coverings off while on select marked equipment
  • By reservations only,  Active Duty can now reserve the basketball courts! 

          - Reservations must have signed memo from O5 and above with names of all approved players

          - Reservations must be made 1 week in advance (Limited to 2 slots per unit, per week)

          - Limited to 25 players at a time 

          - 1-hour reservation time slots

          - Face coverings are required 

  • When 6-feet of social distancing cannot be maintained, face coverings must be worn
  • PFC is a 16+ ONLY facility
  • All users must properly clean equipment before and after use
  • Steam rooms are currently closed
  • Group PT capped at <25 people)
  • Maximum capacity enforced within each facility: PFC: 118, Wolf's Lair: 25
  • ALL masks must be solid material and cannot have a air ventilation filter option
  • Social distancing and sanitization precautions in place
  • Failure to comply may result in loss of privileges

Sports & Fitness Center use is free and open to all eligible Family and MWR authorized users (16 and older), including retirees and family members.


Physical Fitness Center has a well-balanced program for the community with community and intramural level individual and team sports, including:

  • TRX suspension training
  • Soccer
  • Volleyball
  • Boxing

Fitness Coordinators

Whether you are new to working out, looking to take workouts to a higher level or just need motivation during your exercise routine, certified fitness coordinators on staff are ready to assist you. The coordinators are free of charge and are available on a first come first serve basis or by appointment.

PFC Ice Rink

Open during the winter months, the PFC Ice Rink is a versatile indoor rink that offers both hockey and ice skating.

In addition to scheduled hockey games and events, open skate times are available throughout the week. Lessons are also available by registering through the PFC.

Fitness Classes

Sports and Fitness offers classes on a scheduled basis. The schedule changes monthly, and new classes are always being added. Join in on group fitness, and get in a great workout!


A high-energy, fun workout that includes weights and cardio to shape and sculpt the core and lower body area.

Work every muscle in every angle using steps and weights. This total body workout is designed to get your body moving while toning and strengthening your muscles.

Boot Camp
This interval training class alternates between various body-sculpting moves and aerobic exercises. This indoor or outdoor workout (dependent on season) will increase your muscular and cardio strength and endurance.

Cardio Kickboxing
A high-intensity interval workout integrating a combination of punches and kicks for a full body workout.

A low impact, high-intensity workout that burns calories like no other cardio class. Follow your instructor on imaginary bike rides that will include endurance rides and challenging climbs up hills and fast down hills.

Cycling & Abs
Splitting the class between intense cardio on the bike and focus on the entire core, this workout will get your heart racing and your abdominals shaking!

An easy going class designed for moms in all levels of fitness who are either pregnant, newly postpartum, or beyond the baby stages! Each movement can be modified to meet varying intesity levels and needs.

Pump & Pedal
A class designed for all levels to sculpt and tone while increasing and maintaining your heart rate. This class mixes cycling with weight lifting and muscle endurance. Burn fat and gain muscle by cycling through this combo class.

Start training to the beat! This class combines body weight, muscle conditioning, cardio, and plyometric training moves synced to original music that has been specifically designed to match every move.

Use weights like you never have before! This class works each muscle group in the lower and upper body with your choice of weight on a barbell to improve your strength and endurance.

Upper Cut
A low impact, high-intensity workout that burns calories like no other cardio class. Follow your instructor on imaginary bike rides that will include endurance rides and challenging climbs up hills and fast down hills.

This relaxing class not only strengthens your body, but also the mind. Our yoga practice integrates mind, body, and breath awareness through postures, movements, and asanas.

Fuses hypnotic Latin rhythms, hip-hop, and easy-to-follow aerobic moves to create a high energy, fat-burning “dance” fitness classes that will blow you away!

1 Individual Session (50 minutes): $35
