Boater Safety Course

Stay safe on the water this summer.

This couse is limited to 6 participants & must drive their own vehicle to and from the site. 

Facemasks are required by every participant! 

Join Outdoor Recreation for the Boater Safety Course, and learn the ins and outs of navigating water safely.

Participants must complete the online Free Boating Safety Course certification before attending the in-person course at: www.boatus.org/courses

In addition to the online Boater Safety Course, you will need to attend the river portion of the Boater Safety Clinic at the Outdoor Recreation Center. This clinic is conducted rain or shine, so be sure to bring a raincoat.

A Motorized Boater Safety Card is issued at the completion of the course. Certification is valid for 4 years.

2020 Boater Safety Course Schedule:
June 21: 9 a.m. to Noon
June 21: 1 to 4 p.m.
July 5: 9 a.m. to Noon
July 18: 9 a.m. to Noon

Everyone renting a motorized watercraft from the Outdoor Recreation Center is required to have a Boater Safety Card issued from the Fort Wainwright Outdoor Recreation Center. There are no exceptions! 

 

Cost

This course is $15 per person.
